Anemia mexicana - Mexican Flowering Fern

Anemia mexicana - Mexican Flowering Fern

Hardy in mild areas (USDA zones 8-10), so will need protection in harsh winters. Fronds are dimorphic, the sterile fronds are leathery and similar in form to the Cyrtomiums. The fertile frond is more akin to the Osmundas, if narrower. It prefers a dry, shaded spot, such as the north side of a rockery for instance. It is not fussy on soil type but dislikes overwatering.
It grows up to 60cm in height.
