Evergreen. Eventual height to 25cm.
A small evergreen fern that has proven hardy, at least in mild areas, as long as protected from excessive winter wet. It grows in a diverse range of habitats in its natural range of Australia and New Zealand. It grows in shaded river gullies in desert areas, in full sun or semi-shade elsewhere. It seems happier with more watering than most other Cheilanthes, especially during summer growth. Good drainage is essential though.
Not fussy on soil types, extra sand added to a vermiculite/perlite and compost mix seems to work well.
