I have been bringing the occasional Arisaema to plant fairs over the last few years when I have enough of my own cultivated stock to do so. I always get asked for this one, and now I have it for you!
Arisaema sikokianum, the Japanese Jack-in-the-pulpit, is a herbaceous perennial plant. An unusual woodland plant noted for its unmistakable smoky-purple base, snow-white cup and large hood with purple, green and white stripes. Found only in moist, shaded areas on the Island of Shikoku in Japan.
Leaves have silver markings along the centre and as an added bonus you may get spikes of red berries after flowering. Plants supplied are well growing in their pots and should flower this year.
