This is a very hardy Pitcher Plant from the north and central eastern USA. With that distribution you just know its hardy!
It has compact pitchers, open to the sky to collect rainwater. It grows about 20cm high. The pitcher in this variety is well marked with red around the hood and red veining, the flowers are about 45cm high and red in colour.
This is one that can be grown on rafts, probably the easiest way to grow them. Just make sure the crowns are above water. They can also be grown in pots of peat moss, sphagnum moss mixed with perlite or vermiculite. Place the pot in a saucer of rainwater.
