A recent and fabulous variety for giving the moist, shady border a Japanese lift! It grows into a compact, cascading mounds about 40cm high and 40cm wide.
The blades are green in spring and summer. Once the temperatures cool down in the autumn they start turning brilliant red orange and gold before dying down for the winter.. You can see why this would also be succesful in a container! Prefers partial shade but tolerant of full shade as well. Cut back to ground level in late winter/early spring, before new growth appears and that's it! Very low maintenace for a great look. Superb with ferns and Japanese maples for an oriental look .
