Semi-evergreen, height to 60cm. Very hardy.
A very rare native fern, liking damp humus rich soils in full or partial shade. The fertile fronds are a little more upright, with fronds at an angle along the rachis, presumably to act like an aerofoil and aid spore dispersal (I'd love to test this theory so if anyone has a wind tunnel handy......)
Though preferring damps spots they are quite adaptable and easy top grow in droer situations. They spread via short rhizomes and can make an effective ground cover over time, achieving this faster on the damp ground.
