Fritillaria
We've been growing these for a number of years now, relishing their flowers each spring. We like to have these at plant fairs but they do tend to flower earlier than the popular shows.... exepting this year when there were no plant faits until July! The bulbs supplied will be of a flowering size, however there are no guarantees they will flower, so much depends on site and temperatures. Sometimes they like a little time to settle in and find their ideal depth. Bulbs will be lifted freshly for each order and packed with substrate. Fritillarias do not like drying out completely so unlike bulbs that have been lifted in advance and stored on shop shelves for weeks these will have a much higher chance of establishment.
Plant immediately on receipt, a good rule of thumb is to plant deeply, two to three times the size of the bulb.
