This charming and very useful perennial makes a dense mat of unusual feathery purple-black foliage with green tips. Insignificant gold-green flowers are produced in summer. It’s ideal for planting at the edge of pathways or using in cracks between flagstones.It is easy to grow, especially in moist but well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Divide clumps in spring. It has a height of around 3cm. Its common name is 'Brass Buttons.
