As we undertake a number of gardening projects we grow a variety of plants which are outside our normal range of shade loving ferns and perennials, this is one of them!
A lovely Plume Thistle with beautiful deep purple flowers on tall prickly stems (1.2m) over dark green foliage. These prefer full sun and a moist, well drained soil but are quite adaptable. Great for pollinators and for seed eating birds and also quite dramatic. I love these growing amongst grasses, the flowing blades offer a great contrast to the prickly stems and leaves.
