Toadshade
A subtle Trillium, about 30cm high with maroon to green flowers atop the three leaves, usually mottled. Sessile referes to the lack of flower stalk. It dies down completely from autumn through winter.
Very hardy (-15C), it thrives in moisture retentive soil in light or dappled shade.
