Trillium
A genus of rhizomous perennials from North America and Asia. They grow in rich, moisture retentive soil in shade, they take a while to get established. The best possible site is one that gets plenty of light on the spring and is in deep shade from summer onwards, so the ideal is a woodland type location. You can mimic this by growing under a good deciduous shrub in smaller gardens or suitable trees in larger gardens. The rhizome likes to be kept cool through the summer months.
The plants supplied are of flowering size and should flower the first year. However they can take a while to settle in so allow for that when planting. Once established they quickly produce a gorgeous clump of foliage and flowers in the spring.
