
Birthroot.
A beautiful Trillium with beetroot-red recurving flowers, held on a stalk above the foliage. There can be colour variation in the flowers, occasionally white, yellow or purple. The leaves themselves are a fresh green. It dies down completely from autumn through winter.
Very hardy (-15C), it thrives in moisture retentive soil in light or dappled shade.
